Fresher, cleaner take on L'Homme with violet leaf and vetiver. Feels like they added more modern/synthetic sweetness to it too but it balances out nicely with the violet. The violet leaf is so prominent that my first thought was this is like a sweetened and modernized Fahrenheit. Maybe not for the hottest of days but seems perfect for warm days outside or in the office. Very casual. Projection is really good during first 4-5 hours. The scent lasts all workday. I was given this as a present in 2012. A pleasant sweet, possibly floral, dreemy perfume... Sometimes it feels very feminine to me, sometimes like a cheap doedorant spray. Decent projection, smeels strong for around 3-4 hours. A summer, daytime perfume. For me it is lacking character and identity 5/10 By the notes alone, I should love this. Being a Benaim and Polge fan is yet another reason, however I cannot get down with it. The violet leaf and pepper combo is too much. Works for some just not for me. I don't find it attractive or alluring. But rather a bit shouty and maybe purposefully crude. This is a very OK fragrance - nothing special. {yawn} It is safe for work, school, or church. The fragrance is, however, memorable. I only had a sample and wore this to my dad's funeral. Now, I will never wear it again. L'Homme Libre by YSL is a remarkable flanker of the wonderful YSL L'Homme. L'Homme Libre, as was pointed out in another review, reminds me of Christian Dior Fahrenheit. It's long lasting, deep and pungent, with the sweet note of the original YSL L'Homme nestled nicely within. This scent stands on its own, but it happens to be a great retake on the YSL L'Homme mystique. i absolutely loooooove this. it is my go to cheer up fragrance. violet leaf is the main player in this fragrance and ysl made it into a masculine scent, which is genius in my opinion.
